Cartoon vacation photos
A couple of days ago, Kristie Sloan commented and asked if I take lots of photos of my kiddos. The answer is yes and no. When we’re traveling, I bring the camera, the video camera, and the little Flip cam thingie. My intention is to take a lot of images — capture the memories and all that jazz. Trouble is, my kiddos are now at the stage where they’re not exactly little hams in front of the camera anymore. I ask them to pose, and they roll their eyes, groan, and sigh heavily as they get into position. Lately, they don’t even bother taking off their sunglasses (“It’s too bright out!”), so our most recent photos from the Outer Banks make it look like I was in the Witness Protection Program and I was vacationing with two federal marshalls. (My turn to heave a heavy sigh.)
So, I think I’ve found a happy medium. (I’m all about the happy mediums. I hate the thought of a mad average…har har har…never mind.) Answer: Turn my children into cartoon characters with the help of some well-placed googly eyes. They can be icognito, and I can get a sunglass-free shot while pretending my life is one big, fun cartoon. What d’ya think:
