Soup sharing

So as I have mentioned, it’s been cold here in Chez Polka Dot land for a couple weeks. Almost cold enough to make me want to increase my auto emissions to speed up global warming. Almost, anyway. But rather than create a long-term problem for my short-term frozen toes, I’ve turned to soup making instead. Nothin’ like a steaming bowl of soup to warm your innards and bring you happiness.

Problem: No one else at Chez Polka Dot likes soup. I know; they’re crazy. But no matter the kind of soup — bean, vegetable, chili — I’m left with a giant pot of soup to slurp all by my lonesome. Yes, I know I can freeze most soups. But sometimes that changes the texture…and sometimes it doesn’t, but my brain still thinks it did.

So imagine my great happiness when, over on Trust the Universe, blogger Rosie tossed out a great solution: Soup Swap. Everyone stirs up a big batch of soup, then gets together and trades portions. Like a cookie swap…only, you know, with soup.

My new mission: To find local soup lovers to swap soup. Possible problem: The weather’s finally going to warm up tomorrow. Wait. Did I say a warm up is a problem? Wow, soup magic. Got a fave soup recipe to share? Please share — I’d love to expand my soupy repertoire.
