Healthy Ways to EAT
Hello, bloglings! Sir Buffalo Sushi here. It does seem like all of my posts are about food, oh well. Ever since the 4th of July, we’ve been eating well… Not really a diet, but a attempt for better health. It’s pretty easy. Except we can only have soda twice this week, once next week, and once the week after that plus it has to be sugar free. And we go out to DQ only once a month to get the blizzard of the month. But there’s a good side, too. Like last night, I REALLY wanted a hot dog, but I resisted and had strawberries, cottage cheese, cantaloupe, and granny smith apple. Here’s more good meals: (that are even Sir Buffalo Sushi approved) Peanut butter sandwich with banana in it Salad with ranch and sunflower … Read entire article »

A post definitely not about camping
When I asked Sir what I should post about today, he said firmly, “NOT camping.” So, although thoughts of camping have been consuming me lately, I’ll follow a different rabbit trail today… When I mentioned to a pal that Sir and Mister had had fire duty when we were…uh…sleeping in another location other than indoors, she was aghast. “You let them start the fire?!” Like, how irresponsible. But they weren’t exactly playing with fire. (That came … Read entire article »

Joining forces: Teamed with an agent
So much of the writing biz is a solo adventure. But sometimes you need to partner up with someone — and when you do, suddenly you think, “Um…just why was I being all, ‘I am an island’ anyway?” I just signed on with agent Jennifer Lawler, and suddenly I feel like Dorothy stepping out of the house into Oz. Ooh, look at all the colors in the world! I took a class with Jennifer a couple years ago, and I was impressed with her calm leadership back then. So when I found out she was now with a literary agency and accepting clients, I almost fell over myself asking if she’d take a chance on me. Luckily, she’s a brave soul and willing to give it a shot. So now I’ve got … Read entire article »

TMI
I’d say I’m middle-road when it comes to technology. Sure, I love me some wifi, and I’d probably save my laptop’s life in a fire. And I adore my digital camera and camcorder. But take my phone (actually, don’t take it…but feel free to upgrade me). I’m on a data plan, but my phone is a dinosaur by today’s tech standards. While it’s not exactly one of these beauties: …it’s still fairly outdated by today’s iPhone … Read entire article »

Camping improv
Our camping trip a couple weeks ago is still on my mind. Mostly because I’m still feeling guilty/amazed that I enjoyed the tent camping so much. Recap: I used to tent camp a lot in my bachelorette years, and then during our early marriage years. Did a bit when the kids were younger. Then my parents started letting us borrow their camper, and the thought of sleeping on the ground, crawling in and out of a tent, and washing dishes at a spigot didn’t seem as appealing. So we went several years camping — but not in a tent. Enter our Atlanta trip last month. Tent camping. As I said at the time, shockingly fun. We’re already planning the next tent camping expedition. Two things I’ve been thinking about: Gadgets. I don’t … Read entire article »

Fourth of July
Hello, bloglings! Sir Buffalo Sushi here. Tomorrow’s Independence Day. And we plan to camp out in our backyard, do some fireworks, and grilling. My Mom has awesome cooking powers, and she’s planning a huge meal: watermelon lemonade, hamburgers, hotdogs, beans, Jell-O, home made BBQ, sliders (mini hamburgers), her famous home made mac’ ‘n’ cheese, and corn on the cob. We have a bunch of fireworks, too. Legal of course. I usually light the firework, before diving out of the way. Till next time, bloglings! Sir Buffalo Sushi, signing off. … Read entire article »
