Coffee talk
I first started drinking coffee in college. All nighters, you know. At first, I was into the milk-and-sugar route. Then, after a road trip with my sister across the country in a Yugo (remind me to tell you about the Goodwrench Sister adventures sometime), I took it black. (I didn’t like powdered creamers on the road. Or off the road, for that matter.)
Then my uncle told me my teeth would get yellow if I kept drinking it black, so I switched back to milk (no sugar). During my pregnancy years, I had to give up coffee altogether, which was the only bad part of being pregnant. Yeah, I said the only bad part. Went back on full-strength, super-strength, multiple pots of coffee during the infant years, just for survival purposes.
After Three Dark Years (nothing to do with the kiddos–they were great), when the kids were around 5 and 4, I found out I had high blood pressure from stress (also nothing to do with the kiddos–still great). Ditched the caffeine altogether, but kept the coffee. Now that I’m cranking on a couple writing projects that are time-consuming, and because it’s hot out, I’ve found myself sneaking out to buy frozen coffee drinks (some with caffeine…shhhh!). I should stop, because they feel naughty…I don’t want to know how many calories are in these suckers.
So now that you know my coffee history and my guilty pleasure, I’m about to do you a big favor. If you like frozen coffee drinks, that is. A writer I know, Diana Burrell, grew tired of getting a high-priced coffee fix, so she whipped up her own version of the coffeehouse fave, the Frozen Mocha-licious-ca or whatever it’s called. And she was generous enough to share it with her closest jillion friends on the Internet! So I’ll share it with you, my four friends who are reading this: Diana’s Frozen Mocha Coffee. Fire up your blender!

Hello,
This is your fifth friend here. I’m going to try that next week, as soon as I finish my second week of South Beach Diet. Sounds wonderful!!!
Wow, readership is booming!
Thanks Kate, I enjoyed reading about your coffee habits, as mine is a definite addiction, the only real vice I can say I have, or admit to
I will have to try your friend’s ice mocha drink, it sounds healthy enough. I’m always afraid to try Starbucks’ version as I’m sure they are fat and sugar bombs
I absolutely love the articles I’ve read so far from Sir Buffalo Sushi. I’ll try to visit more often and up your readership to 5
(referencing your readership count from said coffee article).
I know; I’m afraid to peek at SBX’s nutritional info! At Sheetz, you can custom make it, so you can include sugar-free or whatever tickles your fancy (white choc, dark choc, etc.). Mmmm!
