Are you ready to have some fun?

I’m so excited about this I can hardly type. We’ve done giveaways here at the Polka Dot Suitcase before, and they’ve been a hoot. But anyone can just leave a comment and enter a drawing. How would you like to PLAY? Like when you were a kid?

We’re so tickled to announce the first ever Polka Dot Suitcase Scavenger Hunt!

First, look around you at the other eager faces who hope to complete this hunt. Some of you will not finish this challenge. It will be tough. You will learn things about yourself you never thought you knew. You will learn that, perhaps, Polka Dot Suitcases are not just things to stuff with Barbie clothing.

Oh, I’m just being silly. Let’s get on with the fun!

WHY: Why not? Between everyday pressures and The Gloomy Economy, we need some FUN.

WHO CAN PLAY: If you’re reading this and have a shipping address in the United States, you’re in.

HOW TO PLAY: Gotta have rules, right?

1. Below, I’ve listed seven items. These are the things you’ll be looking for — the scavenger list.

2. Below that, I’ve listed the first three clues (each under a separate post). Solve them. Each clue will give you a website address. Write them down for step #4.

3. On Tuesday, I’ll give you four more clues. These will give you four more addresses.

4. Beginning on Wednesday and going through Friday, visit each of those websites. Hidden somewhere on each website will be a small polka dot suitcase.

5. Click on the polka dot suitcase, and you’ll open up a window with one of the scavenger items from our list.

6. When you’ve found all seven, come back here and send me a comment on this post. In the comment, paste the list of scavenger items and tell me the website you found each item on.

7. That’s it — if you’re correct, you’ll be entered in a drawing to win the Grand Prize!

What’s the Grand Prize? You’ll win a box filled with products from each of the websites you visited! How cool is that? I can’t tell you what the exact things are, or else you smarty pants will skip the clues and head right to the sites. But I can tell you they’re all safe, moral, decent, kid-friendly, and uber-cool products, from websites I adore.

THE NITTY-GRITTY: The websites will be hiding the polka dot suitcases beginning on Wednesday, May 27. So you have between now and then to solve the clues. The suitcases will be on the participating websites for THREE DAYS — until Friday, May 29. Then they’ll be taken down. You’ll have until Sunday evening, May 31, to compile your answers and send them to us by leaving a comment on this post. You just have to list which website you found which object on. I won’t be posting your comments, obviously (otherwise everyone could see the answers, silly!). But I will post your name, so you know you’re entered. We’ll draw the winner and let you know here and via email on or around June 1.
