DuneCraft plant kit giveaway!
So tea has been in the news a lot recently, but once you get past the parties and the politics, you’re left with one of the most popular, drinkable drinks on the planet: good old tea. To celebrate Earth Day this week, we’re going to celebrate plant life all week (although I think Sir Buffalo Sushi’s planning a little side trip on Friday into animal life).
And to kick it all off: Another giveaway! This one’s from the super-cool people over at one of my favorite places, DuneCraft. If you like plants, these guys have you covered. We first stumbled across this company a couple years ago, when we discovered that Sir did not inherit my purple thumb — the kid’s a budding horticulturist. He started with one plant kit (he was all into carnivorous plants back then) and now his room’s a jungle. Ferns, spider plants, aloe, you name it, kid’s grown it.
DuneCraft is offering Polka Dot Suitcase carriers everywhere one of their new kits: the Tea House. You can plant herbs (included) to harvest and create your own teas. YUM. Pretty, yet practical. Gotta love that.
Want it? You know the drill — open to U.S. residents (shipping reasons) until this Friday at 5:00 EST. Leave a comment here, in this post. You can just leave any old comment, sure, but it really warms the cockles of my heart when you say something interesting, too. Like how about telling me your fave tea? Or fave plant? Something sweet and wonderful about our planet and how lucky we are to live here?
And really — come back this week. I’ve got some really fun guest bloggers lined up to celebrate Earth Day. Think green!

My favorite tea is Darjeeling.
I went crazy this year, planting all sorts of things in planters on our wrap-around porch. Everything from cactuses to bamboo..
I’m definitely in the plant-nurturing mood this spring
I really like the Desert Biodome.
This is a neat idea. We can all help a little by growing some of our own food, even if it’s just a little windowsill garden.
I love a mint blend tea…there’s nothing better for relaxing.
This would be great for me! I am a huge tea lover. My favorite is red tea, like Rooibos.
I drink tea everyday I just came in from the veggie garden and worked on the compost pile What a fantastic giveaway for someone like myself who loves plants
My favorite tea is plain ol’ Sun Tea!
I am more of an herb person.I love lavender. Thanks!
I love to try flavored teas but I’ll always prefer my Earl Grey.
I am not a tea drinker, but my niece is, so this would be perfect for her.
I love Raspberry tea.
I enjoy Tetley iced tea especially on a hot day!
I love green tea and white ginger tea
Sorry, I don’t have a big ‘tea tale’. What I do bring is a love of tea.
My favorite tea is Luzianne tea. It used to be Tender Leaf Tea, but somehow it doesn’t make it all the way to Pennsylvannia.
I love to add to my tea in the summer months. I grow Chocolate Mint, Peppermint, and a great assortment of mints.
Thanks so much for this. I love sampling teas and most importantly I’d love growing my own teas, if they’d survive PA weather.
Not only do I love tea (I recently discovered Blueberry tea!) but I love terreria (is that the right plural?) So this is a double winner for me.
Thanks
I love my rose garden…
Thank you for this great giveaway! I spend all afternoon today planting giant elephant ears in my yard so this nice lil’ thing would be a such a nice change lol. My favorite tea is raspberry tea with a little tiny amount of honey.
I like green tea best! Thanks!
wow this is neat, I would love this
I love plants – especially violets. In fact my mom brought me 3 today and I am running out of room! I think these will go to work with me!
Thanks
I’m a fan of plain old chamomille tea with lemon. Nothing fancy!
I love to make peach iced tea (then I’m not tempted to add sugar).
My favoraite tea is black, black, black
We’re living here in Florida, with the green stuff outside crowding up against the house and occasionally, well, trying to get in… So, seeing this Totally Enclosed plant kit, where we can pick-and-choose what WE think should be growing in there (AND don’t have to worry about it Getting Out) is just awesome!
I think something like this plant kit will work nicely to really demonstrate the whole cycle of growing seasons to my kids… I’ve never been overly impressed or quite satisfied with what is normally provided in school — somehow a bean seed in a styrofoam cup just doesn’t scream “Harvest Time!!” to me quite the way Basil, or Catnip, or Carrots (or TEA, come to think of it) does.
And admit it, the thought of being able to grow your own source of caffeine at home should draw quite a bit of interest from the adults, too!
Green tea and Black tea are my two favorites, but I usually end up making herbal because we have lots of tea parties with a three year old calling the shots.
My favorite herbal tea is peppermint. I like to grow chamomile because the little flowers are so pretty but I don’t actually make tea out of it.
I had to chuckle at your word cockles. I think I might use that word today…HEHE! I prefer Chamomile Tea. My brother is a huge tea drinker he prefers Chai. I might have to pass this gift along to him if I win.
Thanks for the chance.
red tea
I am always up to try a new tea. I prefer drinking it cold though or very very cool. Your first poster mentioned darjeeling. I received that as a gift a Christmas ago. It is very different than any other teas I had tried. I can’t explain it, other than it is delicious!
I love Chai tea and plum tea.
OOoH! I would love to make my own tea! So fun~
We’re moving to the country and I can’t wait to finally plant a garden. Oh and btw my favorite tea is Earl Grey. My dd loves Chamomile.
I love green tea,it always makes me feel good when I drink it
Earl Grey would be my favorite, but I drink any type of tea.
Thanks for the chance to win! I love tea!
Yes! Back to good old tea. I love a soothing chamomile or the occasional fruit-flavored, such as peach or raspberry. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
Please enter me into the contest. Thanks!
I love all kinds of tea!
The Earth we live on is truly wonderful. There are so many different land and water varieties and wonderful wildlife. There are so many diverse plants we have for food even sassafras tea.
One of my fave teas is an English Toffee Tea. I add creamer and Splenda, so it’s like a liquid candy bar.
I love green tea.
i am staring an herb garden so this would be a good difference to show my little one.
